Men’s Group: Why You React the Way You Do

  • 1659 Cambridge Road Cambridge, Waikato Region, 3283 New Zealand (map)

Most men have had moments where they’ve reacted in a way they didn’t expect.

Snapping when they didn’t mean to.
Shutting down instead of speaking up.
Walking away, avoiding the conversation, or trying to keep the peace while something inside is boiling.

This session is about understanding why that happens.

We’ll be looking at the nervous system in a practical, real-life way — including fight, flight, freeze, and fawn responses — and how they show up in everyday situations like relationships, work stress, parenting, conflict, and pressure.

This isn’t about blaming yourself or over-analysing everything.

It’s about understanding what’s happening in your body so you can respond with more awareness instead of reacting from old patterns.

We’ll explore:

  • why certain situations trigger strong reactions

  • how your nervous system responds under pressure

  • what fight, flight, freeze, and fawn can look like in real life

  • how awareness creates more choice in the moment

As always, this is a grounded space for honest conversation and practical insight. There’s no pressure to share — just the opportunity to step back, reflect, and understand yourself more clearly.

If you’ve ever walked away from a situation wondering, “Why did I react like that?” — this session will give you something useful to work with.
