When work, home and everyday conversations start feeling harder than they should.
Why Does Everything Feel Like a Fight?
Some weeks it can feel like everything takes more effort than it should.
Work feels like pressure. Home feels like there is always something else that needs doing. The kids need something. Your partner needs something. There are bills to pay, jobs to finish, messages to reply to, people to keep happy, and somehow even a simple conversation can turn into another thing to deal with.
You are not necessarily falling apart.
You are still getting up, still going to work, still doing what needs to be done.
But inside, it can feel like you are constantly pushing against something.
Someone asks a question and it feels like criticism. Someone needs your help and it feels like more pressure. Someone disagrees and suddenly it feels like a battle. Even when nothing massive has happened, you can feel wound up, defensive, tired, or ready to snap.
Then you get to the end of the day and think:
“Why does everything feel so bloody hard?”
That is what this Men’s Group is about.
Not blaming everyone else. Not pretending life is easy. And not trying to become some perfectly calm bloke who never gets frustrated.
Just having an honest look at why everyday life can start to feel like a fight — and what might be going on underneath that constant pressure, frustration or resistance.
As always, this is not therapy, and no one is going to make you share anything you do not want to. You are welcome to come along, listen, and take what is useful.
A grounded night for honest conversation, practical reflection, and understanding yourself better.
About Speak Up Cambridge
Speak Up Cambridge is a relaxed men’s group held at The Healing Barn in Cambridge.
It is a space for honest conversation, practical reflection, and helping men understand themselves better. The group is not therapy, and there is no pressure to share. Some men talk, some men listen, and most nights there is a fair bit of humour mixed in as well.
Each night has a topic, but the conversation can go wherever it needs to go. You are welcome to come along, listen, and take what lands.
